University of Michigan Pandemic Influenza Response Plan
The All Hazards Planning Group (AHPG) has created a color coded alert system to assist University leadership during planning and response. This system was originally developed in 2006 and has been revised since the outbreak of H1N1. It offers University planners specific trigger points related to virus spread, contagiousness, and mortality. A decision to increase or decrease the color code is made by U-M infectious disease experts, and will consider all available input from WHO, CDC, Michigan Department of Health, Executive Officers, and the AHPG. The color codes are not correlated with WHO levels or any Federal alert levels.
