Emergencies, disasters, accidents, injuries and crimes can occur without warning at any time. Being physically and psychologically prepared to handle unexpected emergencies is an individual as well as an organizational responsibility. Further information about the safety and security of our campus can be found on the UM Emergency Management website at http://www.oseh.umich.edu/emergencymanagement.html.
This Emergency Procedures Flipchart has been developed to assist in minimizing the negative effects from such events. Please read this guide thoroughly before an emergency occurs, become acquainted with the contents, and post this flipchart in your office or lab for immediate reference.
If you have any questions concerning a unique situation not covered in this reference, need additional emergency information, or would like to schedule a training course, please contact DPS at (734)763-3434 or OSEH at (734)647-1143.

The types of incidents that you should report include:
HOW TO REPORT AN IT SECURITY INCIDENT:
If an incident occurs, do NOT attempt any mitigating actions. Report it immediately to the unit security coordinator designated by your school, college or department or to your IT department. If you don’t know where to report an incident, contact security@umich.edu. If you believe a crime has been committed, also call DPS at (734)763-1131.
Reporting incidents will help mitigate their effects, minimize possible future attacks, and increase the University’s ability to quickly restore operations.
REDUCE YOUR RISKYou can reduce the risks and increase security by taking these steps to protect private personal information:
REPORTING EMERGENCIES: Call 911.
If you are calling from a cell phone, tell the 911 operator that you are on the University of Michigan campus and they will transfer you to DPS.
