International Travel Information

In light of the great uncertainties that have been created by the war with Iraq, the University is urging all persons traveling overseas in the coming days and weeks to review their plans. Travelers are encouraged to exercise caution and make decisions about travel that take into account travel warnings and other information provided by the U.S. State Department and the University’s International Travel Oversight Committee. All persons traveling overseas for University-related purposes should provide travel and contact information to the ITOC registry.

Students concerned about academic-related international travel should discuss their concerns with their instructors.

In countries where the U.S. State Department has issued a Travel Warning, the University is prohibiting, as a matter of policy, all University-sponsored instructional programs including faculty-led instruction and other sponsored coursework. The list of these countries may be found at the ITOC website.

Students and faculty who are traveling independently but with University support to pursue individual study and research in areas where there are substantial concerns about safety and security may be asked to sign a waiver indicating that they have been apprised of safety and security concerns for the countries in which they intend to travel.
